Primarily, it is utilized for device configuration by authorized users during production. It also interacts with the reflective IR sticker to determine the type of water pipe used during installation.
The optical eye can also trigger a LoRaWAN message when the sticker is held over it for 10 seconds and is utilized for pulse count output (1 pulse per liter) in legacy wired applications, a feature that is enabled by default.
