What can the CubicSecure do?

Edited

The CubicSecure is able to protect your home against water damage by detecting leaks, monitoring your water temperature, alerting if there is a risk for pipe freezes, and working together with other CubicSecures and CubicDetectors. You can read more about each of its functions below.

Detecting leaks and preventing water damage

In the chart above you can see the flow rate associated with the category of leak detected.

💡A larger leak alarm will always override a smaller leak if detected.

Micro leaks

The unit will emit an alarm after a micro-leakage for at least 48 to 72 hours and shut off the water after another 24 hours if the leak is still ongoing and not acknowledged.

A micro-leakage is detected if the pressure drop during the test is over 0.3 bars within a maximum period of 45 seconds. This can be compared to just a few drops per minute.

By default, the device will perform the test automatically every day when there is no water activity.

Medium leaks

The unit will emit an alarm and shut off the water after a leak with continuous flow over 6 l/h for at least 45 minutes.

Large leaks

The unit will emit an alarm when the flow is continuous for at least 90 seconds and the flow is above 1500 l/h.

Measuring temperature

The CubicSecure measures both ambient and water temperature using built-in sensors.

It can be used with water temperatures from 0.1° to 70°C.

Hot and cold water pairing

The CubicSecure is RISE approved for pairing devices on hot and cold water. This means that if the CubicSecure on a cold water pipe detects a leak, it will automatically shut off the hot water to avoid scalding or other related injuries.
